hitamichi Wakocha Japanese Black Tea (Tea Bags)

Crafted by Japan’s top hand-rolled tea master, Eiji Komuro, this beloved Japanese black tea is made from the cultivar Benifuuki.
It features a clean, gentle sweetness and a bright, floral aroma, with very little bitterness—making it smooth and easy to drink.

Because it is black tea made by a Japanese tea artisan, it carries a uniquely refined and delicate flavor profile.
Komuro’s philosophy is unwavering: every tea he creates must be “a pursuit of ultimate flavor.” This Japanese black tea is no exception—born from years of experimentation, trial and error, and countless visits to tea farms across Japan.

Komuro’s home, Okukuji in Ibaraki Prefecture, lies at the northernmost limit for commercial tea cultivation.
With its harsh winters, it is far from ideal for Benifuuki cultivation. Yet through perseverance and innovation, Komuro has created a tea that condenses the deep umami unique to this land.

Highly praised at the hitamichi Tea Gathering event, this tea is now available in a convenient tea bag format, allowing anyone to easily enjoy the richness of authentic Japanese black tea.
